History: The İzmir Clock Tower was built in 1901 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the accession of Sultan Abdülhamit II to the throne. The architect of the tower was Raymond Charles Péré. The tower is a mixture of Ottoman and Neoclassical architectural styles.
